{Frequently Asked} Questions & Answers

How long will my session last?

Sessions typically last 1-1.5 hours. The time varies depending on the type of session.

Where is my session done?

All sessions are done on location; I currently do not do studio work. I do not charge a travel fee from South Temple, Salt Lake City to Brigham City. If you live outside of this area, please let me know and we can work something out.

What poses do family sessions include?

All family sessions include extended family portraits, immediate family portraits, couple portraits, portraits of the children, and individual portraits of each person (if desired).

Do you do consultations?

I typically do not do consultations because everything we need to discuss can usually be done on the phone; however, if you would like to meet, I am more than willing. One thing I recommend is the bride and groom mailing or emailing me pictures they have seen and like.

What should I wear to my session?

Wear something that says YOU. Colors, layers, and textures are very fun! Accent clothing can be useful as well: scarves, jackets, etc. Try to avoid large logos, plaids, florals, patterns, and head-to-toe black or white clothing. Remember that the more pattern you wear, the less fun you can have with your background. I recommend NOT wearing watches. If you're worried about color, pick a neutral and a few coordinating color tones you both like (gray with blue and violet for instance, or brown with pink and blue), and stick to those hues.

How long will it take for me to receive my images after a session?

Editing time depends on the number of sessions I have as well as the type of session. I try to get your photos back to you as soon as I can.

Weddings: typically 3-4 weeks
Other sessions: typically 1-2 weeks

Where do you recommend we print our photographs from the CD you gave us?

I have a company that I work through for printing that is amazing--- MPix.com. They offer various paper styles as well as custom work: framing, gallery wraps, etc. They will mail prints to you. Check'em out!

How should I wear my makeup (specifically for Senior Sessions)?

Face: To prevent reflection and to enhance your skin's natural glow, use SPF-free moisturizer and foundation. A translucent powder can be used to set everything.

Eyes: Make sure to "groom" your eyebrows. You can enhance your eyelashes with a black, waterproof mascara. Dark brown eyeliner is a good alternative to black eyeliner and compliments all light, shimmery eyeshadows.

Cheeks: Color on the cheekbones is always nice. It can really brighten up the face.

Lips: Glossy! Shiny! Color! Berry colors are great. Try to refrain from a frosty pink (your lips will actually look white).

Most importantly, just be yourself! You don't want to go all out on your makeup and then not look like you.

Do you require a deposit to reserve a date and when is the full payment due?

Weddings: $100 non-refundable deposit
Other sessions: currently no deposit

I will give you my address once you have booked. All checks need to be written out to Rachelle Frederiksen. Please do not send cash through the mail. The remaining total is due no later than the day of the event in the form of a check or in cash.

Do you charge a travel fee?

I do not charge a travel fee because I only do sessions between South Temple in Salt Lake City and Brigham City, Utah, as of July 16, 2010. There is no travel fee for these areas.
